In my case, I didn’t know that and I did try some methods for how to deal with panic attacks that my doctor told me about. I tried breathing techniques, changing my lifestyle habits, and even some forms of medication. However, my panic attacks didn’t get better and so I felt that I was a failure in many ways. I think my low self esteem and anxiety at that point caused my panic attacks to escalate. I eventually stopped going to my doctor too because I was upset each time I had to go in and tell him that what we tried just wasn’t working.
