My desire to stop panic attacks didn’t happen until my grandson was born. Until then I had let them consume a large part of me. I didn’t want to
tell anyone about them because I feared that when the baby was born they wouldn’t see me fit to take care of the child. That was something I was looking forward to and would have been devastated to be told. However, this secret of mine continued to grow out of control and I knew that I had to stop panic attacks before they got any worse.
That isn’t an easy decision to come to, but one I hope you are at now or soon will be. I have seen too many other people shut out the world around them when they suffer from panic attacks. That isn’t a quality way to live your life and the longer panic attacks go one the harder it is to come back from them. That doesn’t mean it can’t be done but I do wish I had taken the time to fight my problems much sooner than I did.
To stop panic attacks it takes a strong will so be ready for that. It is easy to give up such a fight but much harder to stay in it and to win. You may lose an occasional battle but you can be victorious with the war when all is said and done. You have the power to stop panic attacks but you need to get to the core of what is going on before you will be able to do so.

What that took for me was taking a very good look at my life and my choices. It turned out that my panic attacks where mainly due to my poor lifestyle choices. Once I started to make positive changes then I found out that they weren’t as severe or happening as often. I also discovered that to stop panic attacks I needed to focus on staying calm through them. This may sound easy but anyone that has suffered from a panic attack will assure you that it isn’t.
Talking myself through them though did work to stop panic attacks. I was able to identify triggers and to get myself calmed down as those symptoms started. The first few times this happened I was dumbfounded. I didn’t have to deal with a that panic that used to sweep over me. I also felt like I had some control over myself and that felt really good. It is something I used to take for granted and certainly missed while I suffered from panic attacks.
There were many methods I tried though to stop panic attacks that didn’t work well for me. I want you to realize from the start of this process that may occur. This isn’t due to anything you did though – instead it is because you have a certain reason why you have panic attacks. Evaluating what is going on and finding that reason will help you to find the right method to stop panic attacks.
